Children’s Justice Course
And other writing updates.
Would you be interested in a course on Children’s Justice?
I’m considering forming a course on the book. Each week we’d read 2-3 chapters and discuss over zoom. I would also include selections from the texts that influenced Children’s Justice. We’d cover everything in the book in a group setting, and you’d get a chance to ask questions about the material. Since the book is 28 chapters, it would be a three-month course or roughly 12 weeks. I’d charge $40 per lesson or $400 for the whole course. If this is something you’d be interested in, reply to this email with the subject line “Course.”
Speaking of book discussion, how are you like the book so far?
I was talking with my wife and said I felt like I wasn’t making a difference. She said, “You wrote 100,000 words. Give people a chance to read it.” I feel she is probably right, yet as a creator, I crave feedback. With media, the feedback is often delayed. I post things online and don’t learn until far later who read or saw them and what impact they had. I still regularly hear about people seeing American Circumcision for the first time. Movies can be seen in two hours, yet a book might take time. That said, if you’ve read the book, I would love a review on Amazon or comment on social media sharing something that you learned from it or what it made you feel. This book is a bold approach, so I’m very curious to hear how people respond to it.
I’m not sure I can keep the current posting pace.
I’m on month two of one article per day. I doubt I will be able to keep that pace in the future. This might slow to (gasp) only 2-3 articles per week. Next week I have a longer one, and there might be a break of a few days after that. While I *could* write this much every day, I think I’m going to transition some of that time towards the fantasy novel I’ve been saying I’ll write for two years. (Speaking of which, you know I wrote a Christmas novel, right? Get it here.) I originally was going to write that novel first, but Children’s Justice demanded I write it. I tell the story of that writing process here.
Of course, it’s easier to justify putting more time towards writing the more it pays, so be sure to support Hegemon Media here:
Lastly, how are you enjoying Hegemon Media?
What do you think of these articles so far? What have you learned, felt, thought, etc.? What do you like? What do you want more of? Less? Any topics you want me to cover that I haven’t yet? This is internet connection goes both ways. I can see your comments. Let me know.
